IllumiGauge is developed by Enoch Aikpokpodion. This policy explains how the iPhone, iPad and Android app handles data, and how this showcase website works.
Readings and personal content
Readings, session samples, notes, named locations and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not receive your measurements or notes. Location names are labels you type; the app does not request GPS access. Metering, saved history and calculations work offline. The app has no accounts, ads or cross-app tracking.
Camera and sensors
Android uses the ambient light sensor. On iPhone and iPad, camera permission lets the app estimate illuminance from the selected front or rear camera’s exposure. Processing happens on your device. The app does not record photos, retain camera frames, upload images or use the microphone. The camera stops when the app goes into the background. You can manage camera permission in system Settings.
Exports you choose
Your readings leave the app only when you choose to export a CSV through the system share sheet. You choose the recipient or destination. The receiving app or service handles the file under its own privacy practices.
App updates
Release builds use Shorebird to check for and deliver software updates when a connection is available. The service receives a randomly generated identifier for this installation, the app and release version, patch and update status, device architecture, platform, and technical update events such as installation success or failure. The installation identifier is used to count active installations and for service operation; it is not an advertising identifier and is not linked to an account or your readings.
The update service and its infrastructure also receive network information such as an IP address. Shorebird states that infrastructure IP logs are used for security and monitoring. Update information is used for app functionality and aggregate service analytics, not personalized advertising, tracking across other apps, or sale to data brokers. Technical information may be processed by Shorebird and its infrastructure providers outside Canada. See Shorebird’s update documentation and privacy policy for its practices and retention information. Measurement features remain usable without an internet connection.
Deleting local data
Delete individual readings or all saved readings inside the app. Deleting a location removes its tag while keeping associated readings. Uninstalling the app removes its local data and installation identifier, subject to your operating system’s backup and restore behavior. Exports and backups outside the app are managed separately. The update service controls retention of its operational records; contact us with privacy questions or requests.
Support
If you email support, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request. Sending readings is optional. Avoid sending sensitive information you do not want included in your support request.
This website
The website’s light explorer uses simulated values. It does not access your camera, save app measurements or upload exported examples. Cloudflare hosts the website and receives network requests and technical delivery information for hosting, security and operational monitoring. The website does not use advertising trackers.
